Wow! That is odd... did you change network cards recently? But I am
thinking that kudzu would probably have detected the change, and written
the new MAC address into the configuration file.

The only time I have needed to mess around (i.e. manually set) the MAC
address was when I was installing Aurora Sparc Linux on a Netra T1 with
quad ethernet ports.
