YUM update dies with confict between poppler-utils and xpdf-utils

Do you really want to update poppler-utils ?
You could just say "yum --exclude=poppler-utils update".

It's quite common in my experience
for packages to get out of sync in this way.
Usually they get sorted out sooner or later ...
