where is grub-reboot or something similar as "lilo -R"?

The first tells how to set thing up so you can boot once with the
new kernel, and revert to the old one after that. The second
explains how to set thing up so that if the defualt boot entry
fails, it tries another entry. The second is probably the one you
are going to want, but the first one looks safer for a remote machine.
