I think a more useful search can be had using google or one of the
several sites that archives the list (gmane and marc).  See the wiki
for links:

    http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Communicate/MailingListGuidelines

Near the bottom of this page is information on searching the list
archives.

I do sometimes wish you could still get the raw list mboxes.  Then you
could feed that to your mail client and use its search function. :)
