staring amavis fails

Hello,
I have installed amavis-ng from FC-Extra repo, but it will not start.
Call /etc/init.d/amavisd start will only return failed.
No enntry's in the logfiles. The only that I can found was this:
amavis[1056]: starting.  /usr/sbin/amavisd at XXXX.XXXX amavisd-new-2.4.3 (20060930), Unicode aware,
LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
amavis[1056]: Perl version               5.008008

any ideas??
all packages are up to date.
