FC6 dual-head malfunctioning (probing wrong monitor)

My set up which worked under FC5 is now causing problems under FC6; I
have a CRT capable of 1600x1200, and to its right an LCD of 1280x1024.

When I start X now, according to the debug, it's probing and seeing the
LCD (a Dell) as the main* monitor, not the CRT, and thus forcing the CRT to
an odd res. limited to the capabilities of the LCD.

I've tried adding 'Option "IgnoreEDID" "true"' to both Monitor configs.,
but it doesn't help (X reports 'not using IgnoreEDID'!).

I've had to take to turning off the LCD before starting X, then
everything works as I want.

   Any thoughts?

* - the card's a Matrox G550, the 'main' monitor as far as I'm concerned is
the analogue port, and the LCD's in the DVI port but using a DVI-converter
and using a standard analogue cable. The card *may* think that the DVI's
the default one, but when the box boots it's the analogue that works from
the BIOS on. Plus, the analogue monitor's on the other side of a Belkin KVM
switch, so I'm not being kind to X, but I ought to be able to stop it probing.
