create an .iso file from an audio cd

Perhaps I'm being particularly dense, but what's wrong with simply using k3b 
to burn your audio files to a disk, then make a copy to send to the other 
office?  They can then use Nero or whatever to produce extra copies.  Or is 
the problem that you have audio files not in a suitable format?
