Exclude package from update?

Maybe a really stupid question, but is there a way (similar to
package.mask in Gentoo) to exclude a package from being updated with
yum?  I've installed the CACTI rpm from the main site, since I like how
it installs things better than the Extras version.  But any time I want
to update, it gets included and blows away my config.  (Thank goodness
for backups)
