The Problem Of Fedora Core 4

  In fedora core 4 GNOME,When I press Ctrl+Alt+BackSpace to shutdown X Server or press Ctrl+Alt+F1 to switch terminal interface,the screen can't do it.But I press Ctrl+Alt+F7,it can back to GNOME in the latter condition.Why? Help me.
