DVD Playback problems

That is not the same problem I am having...

I ran lshal --monitor and put in two discs and nothing happened, I
then put in a 3rd disc and got a result, I then put in a 5th, nothing
and then a 6th with a result.  As lshal output shows only 2 of the 5
discs were recognised by the drive or os...
