Gnome-panel crash

Ok, as usual, I found the solution 5 minutes after posting the message.
The problem was the .recently-used file that contains something that 
gnome doesn't like. I have yet to figure out what was causing the 
problem (I reopened all the files used today and nothing happened) but 
deleting the file has fixed the crash.

The related bugzilla bug is 
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172587 (this was not exactly 
my problem but gave me the suggestion to look at the .recently-used file).
