Hi,
I've updated from kernel kernel-2.6.13-1.1532_FC4 to kernel
kernel-2.6.15-1.1831_FC4 with "up2date".
Then I've restarted with the new kernel, but the Login-Screen is only
visible for a few seconds, then the screen gets totally grey.
With the "old" kernel kernel-2.6.13-1.1532_FC4 the problem still exist.
I've removed the Packages kernel-devel-2.6.15-1.1831_FC4 and
kernel-2.6.15-1.1831_FC4 with "rpm -e".
The Package udev-071-0.FC4.2 was installed/updated as a dependency.
It seems the problem is the module "radeonfb".
This are the last lines of the file /var/log/messages after booting:
Feb 19 10:22:59 warpy kernel: radeonfb: Found Intel x86 BIOS ROM Image
Feb 19 10:22:59 warpy kernel: radeonfb: Retreived PLL infos from BIOS

device 160x64
Feb 19 10:23:05 warpy kernel: radeonfb (0000:01:00.0): ATI Radeon Yd
I've searched with "grep radeonfb /var/log/messages*" through all the
message files. The String "radeonfb" never appears before I've done the
kernel update.
What has the kernel update changed?
I have a ATI Radeon 9200 graphic card in my PC.
I've tried to boot with the following Kernel Parameters:
video=radeonfb:off video=vesafb" but without success.
Booting into runlevel 3 is ok. But switching to runlevel 5 same problem.
Any Help ist appreciated.
Best regards,
Detlef
