FC4 on Laptop, does it work??, Partly.

On KDE (never use Gnome, personal preference)

Control Center>Regional and Accessibility>Keyboard layouts
Select the Compaq Laptop keyboard.

YMMV, but worked well on a Compaq Laptop I bought for my father.
