rpm cannot be installed

The above would likely have been installed by an rpm.
> /usr/local/lib/checkinstall/checkinstallrc~

This one likely installed by compiling.
Having 2 different versions of _anything_ installed is asking for
trouble to pop up when least expected.
Why did you compile checkinstall when it is available as rpm?
