Hi All:
I'm having a problem getting a Seagate STA1701W AIT tape drive working on FC4.
I previously used this drive under RedHat 7.2 and had no problems with it
there. Recently I moved it to my FC4 box as the other box was getting flaky
(back when stuff was made to last). Ah well.
The FC4 box has a dual AMD CPU w/2GB RAM.
Adaptek 29160 scsi controller with only the tape drive on it,
the Seagate STA1701W tape drive as ID=5 (drive is terminated internally and
uses LVD cable). Device is recognized as /dev/st0 at bootup.
Kernel version is 2.6.13-1.1532-FC4.
No matter what I do, I can't seem to communicate with the drive always getting
a "device busy" message.
I didn't find any helpful information in the list archives or by googling.
Has anyone on the list used this drive under FC4 or any similar (scsi) tape
drive or have a suggestion?
TIA,
Tom
