New drive already has vfat after new fdisk

Also, when the system looked at the USB drive, it saw what looked
like a vfat and mounted it.  The other 2 partitions were not mountable
so it did not try to do anything with them.  The information in the
residual vfat data said how big the partition was (used to be?).
