YUM problem on new FC4 installation

strace yum update

to get an idea of where it is spinning.  If strace isn't installed, get
it from here:

http://mirror.hiwaay.net/redhat/fedora/linux/core/4/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/strace-4.5.11-1.i386.rpm

or here:

http://mirror.hiwaay.net/redhat/fedora/linux/core/4/x86_64/os/Fedora/RPMS/strace-4.5.11-1.x86_64.rpm

and install by hand first using rpm.
