What is the motivation for including Mono in Core?

Fedora Core includes both GNOME and KDE related packages. KDE users can 
simply choose to ignore whatever  GNOME packages they dont pretty easily 
during or post-installation, so I dont believe its a disadvantage. Mono 
by itself isnt inherently tied to GNOME. KDE and Qt bindings are available.
