Firefox browser?

What is the output of 'ifconfig'
what is the output of 'netstat -n'
what are the contents of /etc/resolv.conf

What I suspect is that DNS is not working for you, and it may not be set
up properly.  Where I am located the DSL connections are all pppoe so I
do not use DSL but chose cable instead.
