two trash icon on gnome desktop

This is probably because at some point you logged into a KDE 
environment, which creates a trash desktop entry in your Desktop folder. 
You could delete it, but then the next time you log into KDE, you'll 
have a missing trash icon. Bit of a crap situation as it happens, feel 
free to file a bugzilla if one hasn't already been filed. It's really an 
upstream KDE issue though.
