Presumably you still have Windows installed.
Control panel/system and dig around.

Or, after inserting the card with Linux running,
  dmesg | tail -50

and likely there will be messages indicating what it is.

Another way is to inspect the Windows drivers for your card: look at the 
.inf file (this works even before you buy, just download the drivers).
