sound problem: hda-intel ICH6 82801 but alsa thinks it is a Cmedia CMI9880

1) I believe there is a problem with my ALSA config: my native
soundcard cracks terribly. When I check alsamixer, or the gnome or
KDE mixer, I cannot set a master volume nor PCM volume. It seems like
the chipset is wrongly defined as a CMI9880.
What should I do to correct this?

2) So I installed a second card from CMedia (CMI8738). This one works
perfectly well.
But Skype wants to access my Intel card and refuses to work on the
CMedia one - I don't know why. And the sound cracks terribly.
Actually I would like to use just one card - the built-in Intel one.
Therefore I seem to need to run skype like this:
aoss skype
But aoss is not provided with FC4. Where can I find it?

Underneath some info about my soundcards.

I hope someone can help me out! I checked the LSA site as well as the
gentoo wiki, but couldn't find a solution.

Thanks,

Jurgen.
