Setting up yum repository

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I want to set up local copy of the [core]
repository.
I will try this out. I am guessing I have to set the
file://path/to/directory in yum.conf file?
Also, I have to do yum-update after the change, correct? Also, I do not want
yum to be using fedora's servers to get the packages.
