evolution crashing suddenly, repeatedly. "insufficient resources"

I was able to end-run around the problem (started looking for options on the commandline in the hopes that something would work)

evolution --help gave me a list of things to look at, and after
puttering around a bit it occurs to me that I could have it start with
-c calendar, so it's not viewing the mail component any longer.

that worked, I got right in to the caledar section. then, the acid test:
I clicked the Mail tab. :-)

back in, no crash anymore. 

Weirdness. I'll have to pay closer attention to precisely where in the
list of all the folders and files my mail is sorted into that causes the
problem to reoccur, but for the time being, anyone else experiencing
this, can try the same and likely get back in again. 

the Evo folks are aware of the issue and a patch is in the works.
Hopefully it comes down the pipeline soon.
