How to understand what screensaver (xscreensaver gnome-screensaver kscreensaver) is used

If I'm a user and use the command 
 sudo startx -- :1 
The desktop is different from root.
I configured screensaver, and after it started and locked my screen,
when I try to unlock I read:

screen is locked by root. 
Insert root password to unlock

This mean that screensaver works for root?
