Help needed for making a 64bit kernel under FC5/x86_64

Hi,

I installed FC5/x86_64 for AMD XP 3200+, 64 Bit, and now I'm want to replace the FC5 kernel by my
own kernel. It seems that for the kernel making, some additional compile options are needed,
because when rebooting the new Kernel, I get a message such as

kernel direct mapping tables up to ...,

and the box reboots again. Does somebody know what this means? I found no explanation. Is there a
howto for making a 64bit kernel?

The kernel was made by "gmake bzImage modules modules_install install".

Any help is welcome.

Regards
