Download an FC5 iso before you go to the PC shop. Get on friendly terms
and get them to show you a machine with same MB/CPU/chipset etc, and do
an install there and then. That way you will know for sure.
Even better use an updated iso (ie fedora-updates up until 1 month ago
get installed during the install process).

Look at reviews of the motherboard you are thinking of getting, and it's
current status with linux - before you buy.
http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/ for various bits you might want to use.

Unless of cours, you are a kernel or driver hacker ready for the thrill
of hassling the manufacturer to give you any info at all to create a
driver from ;)
