I had the same problem. I don't use Gnome, so using Synaptic I got rid of the 
4 packages causing the dependency problems, ran yum update again, and it's 
struggling  through, on dialup, some 80MB of open office stuff at the mo.

Anyone know what libecal is? I've never seen that one before.
