how do i update my FC4 so that I get all the updates and associated
dependencies...

do i need to do a download/install of the yum RPMs?

Yes, update first to the latets kernel, then point your depsolver
(yum/apt/smart/...) to ATrpms (see http://atrpms.net/install.html) and
simply do

yum install madwifi madwifi-kmdl-`uname -r`
