FC5 mozilla/firefox can't openb .pdf files

I found the reason is that evince can's open a pdf file if the file name is
without pdf extension name. for example, the same file with two names "
test.pdf" and "test"

evinve  test.pdf  OK
evince test CAN'T OPEN IT
