You'll get some replies stating that Linux can reliably read NTFS.
This is not my experience. IME, file names get munged, and I don't mean
the case of letters not being preserved. I found that some file names
got "Control" characters in them (i.e. with ASCII codes less than 0x20).
I found this with more than one distro, including FC2, Puppy, DSL,
Knoppix, Kanotix, Kill Bill, and a few others.

I won't say how many you should create, but another FAT32 for file
exchange or sharing would be fine. You will not be limited to 1GB.
The 1GB limitation was with FAT16.
