1.  Make sure you burned an iso image.  If you look at the contents of
the DVD and see only a single file, you didn't burn an iso image.

2.  Make sure the boot order is set to CD, followed by HDD.  (I realize
you wrote that you'd tinkered with BIOS settings, but I didn't see boot
order mentioned.)
