Kernel update yesterday now having problems

Just for fun if you did and install rather than an update, drop by to the 
2.6.15 kernel at boot time and see if everything works fine; then do the 
same with the 2.6.16 series.  I have had problems with the 2.6.16 series -- 
like you -- but everything runs fine under the 2.6.15 series.
