The general idea is that at this point the guy who posted the original messages
talks to his PHB and states that they have a problem with their email server's
configuration.

If it was a local call for me, I would be pleased to "notify the OCSL
switchboard on +44 1403 700959", but it's not worth a long distance call to
England for me to do that.

On a similar note, a few months back I did get my ISP to change their long and
non-standard SMTP greeting (a long warning about contacting their mailserver to
send viruses and so on) by pointing out how silly it was and how it failed to
meet the RFC requirements -- I eventually got a phone call from one of the top
dogs there, in fact, and the SMTP greeting was fixed within about two days
after that phone call.

As I said, if nobody points these things out and says "Now see here", nothing
gets fixed.

I have now provided the requisite "Now see here", so it will be most
interesting to see if anything gets fixed. If it doesn't, folks within a local
calling area of "+44 1403 700959" may wish to take action to follow up on this
and get it fixed.

Or not.

I figure I have done my part, as it were.
