I got something similar installing with reiser and without selinux.  
Check /boot/grub/grub.conf.  Does the kernel line have root=LABEL=/ ?  
Is there a matching line in fstab?  If so, try changing the LABEL=/ in 
both to the actual device (/dev/hdd?).
