Have you tried reinstalling it? Don't know if this can be done, guess it
can, but don't know.

Subject: HALdaemon fails

Hi,

Since a few weeks haldaemon fails on one of my machines.
Starting the service just shows :
/sbin/service haldaemon restart
Stopping HAL daemon: [FAILED]
Starting HAL daemon: [FAILED]

Starting hald manually :
/usr/sbin/hald --verbose=yes
20:47:10.722 [I] hald.c:495: hal 0.5.2
20:47:10.722 [I] hald.c:497: Will daemonize
20:47:10.722 [I] hald.c:507: Becoming a daemon

After this it just dies.

Does anyone have an idea how to get it working again ?

Regards,
Marcel
