That really only applies is you actually USE all those things you
installed.  If you install everything and don't pay attention to
everything, then all sorts of things are going on behind your back.
You'd have to be actively looking out for that sort of thing.

I'm sure there are experimenters who'll install everything just to look
for problems, and they can do that.  I'm sure that there are people
who'll install everything just for simplicities sake, leave themselves
open to exploitation, do nothing to find out that they've been
exploited.  And even if they do discover they've been exploited, will do
nothing that might help fix up the problem.
