Western Digital's lines are 'server quality' drives.  In particular, a
recent quote I got from them recommended nothing but Western Digital RE
series drives.

I'll second that Tim, the RE range is what we use in our SATA servers - they have a much larger MTBF rate than standard desktop drives, and are designed to run 24/7. Specifically for the server market. I've never had to return one yet.

I went to a Seagate seminar two weeks ago, and Seagate also has server quality drives. I've never tried them though, so will not comment.
