Setting up ssh

I'm following a tutorial on setting up ssh with keys.  After the keys are 
generated it suggests that you add

SSH_ASKPASS=ssh-askpass ssh-add

to your .xsession file, so that you are prompted for password every time you 
log in.  Where is this .xsession file?  I can't find it - do I need to create 
it?
