dm-crypt versus cryptoloop?

I'm needing to have an encrypted filesystem on Fedora FC4, and the
first tutorial I found explained how to [easily] use cryptoloop
(http://fedoranews.org/alex/tutorial/crypto/). I tried it out, and it
worked just as advertised on my machine. I've since read in the
cryptoloop HOWTO
(http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Cryptoloop-HOWTO/cryptoloop-introduction.html)
that cryptoloop is deprecated, and has been replaced with dm-crypt. Is
dm-crypt officially the way to go now?
