Be that as it may, something less irritating might be better.  Even a
slower animation speed would help.  Have designers learnt nothing about
how irritating animated flashy things have been on web pages for the
last several years?

Those who design these things should be locked into a room for several
hours with a dozen hyperactive kids and a bucket of party blowers.
