FC5 : Suspend in KDE ?

hit power on the keyboard - nothing
hit power on the front of the box - powers down
Install suspend2 from atrpms - frustration
Uninstall suspend2 from atrpms - suspend now powers down, both from gui
and command line. Powerup goes through normal boot.
