Problem booting up with Radeon 9200 Video Card

I have a similar card, identified as "(--) PCI:*(1:0:0) ATI Technologies 
Inc RV280 [Radeon 9200] rev 1, Mem @ 0xe8000000/27, 0xd8100000/16, I/O @ 
0x9000/8" in /var/log/Xorg.0.log. I don't have this issue. I did a clean 
install and upgraded. I run the "radeon" driver. I don't have the 
proprietary ATI driver installed.
