fc5 X performance is a mess!

I have the same symptom but from other application. I can get X window to use 50 - 80% cpu usage when just change views, tabs, applications, etc. It doesn't always trigger high CPU usage - but enough to really bother me.

I have an AMD X2 4200

Video
NVIDIA 6600 -- no native driver.
