Sorry, if I was unclear, was very tired and frustrated.
With the linuxtant package, kernel and kernel-devel I got "wrong module
format" when I tried to install the module.
I am now experimenting with the latest rt2x00 package, and at least it
installs w/o hanging the box.
But it doesn't work, obviously I need wpa_supplicant in order to configure
the card properly, but that's another story.
Need to find out where FEDORA hides the openssl libs, see another post.
