FC5 on inspiron 6400: no sound (snd_hda_intel), slow dvdrom (NEC 6650A)

FYI installing ALSA 1.0.11 over the 1.0.11rc2 that came with the
kernel fixed this.  Thanks to all who pointed out the solution!
