FC5 on inspiron 6400: no sound (snd_hda_intel), slow dvdrom (NEC 6650A)

Not helpful, but ...

Device is using udma2 mode, but you can't set dma. Looks like the IDE 
driver is dazed and confused.  What kernel version?  What chipset is 
this IDE running on? This is a laptop right?  Anything interesting in 
the logs when you boot the system?
