There won't be any update to 7.16.0 for Fedora releases 6 or earlier
because there has been an ABI change in 7.16.0 and the library version
number has been increased. Version 7.15.5 is the last version providing
libcurl.so.3, which is required by lots of other packages in Fedora.

However, I have packages of 7.16.0 for distributions going back as far
as Red Hat Linux 9, and to solve the dependency problem I've made
packages of libcurl7155 that provide the libcurl.so.3 to satisfy
dependencies in the rest of the distribution. So you can download the
FC4 versions of curl and libcurl7155, install them at the same time
using rpm and then all should be well.
