mounting ext3 drive with R/W permission???

I've done a similar thing, with similar results. I worked around it in
two ways:
Created a sub-directory with permissions allowing users to write into
it.
Changed the ownership of the mount point to myself, simply because I
wanted to be able to write into the root of that mount point.

(Currently testing FC5, but still running FC4, if that's important.)
Don't send private replies to my address, the mailbox is ignored.
I read messages from the public lists.
