FC6 AIGLX nvidia compiz x86_64 -- not quite

Xlib:  extension "RANDR" missing on display ":0.0".

Although the log shows that it loaded and initialized, no applications 
(xrandr, xdpyinfo, compiz, beryl, etc ) can 'see' it.
